I
was offered the opportunity to drive in a round of Britcar, with Vinna Motorsport racing alongside Charlotte Birch, in their Ginetta at Donington park gp.
Britcar Endurance Race Donnington October 2023
Britcar trophy Friday testing first time in a rwd car and it was torrential rain all day but I was still able to get a fair few laps in the car getting used to it and the wet tyres as well. Then jumping to Sunday for qualifying I went out first done my 3 mandatory laps on older tyres, then Charlotte went out to push for lap time and put us in a decent position for the first race. Race one Charlotte started and kept the car out of trouble and stayed consistent until the pit stop. A perfect driver change I hopped in the car to finish the race and I was getting quicker and quicker as the race went on, crossing the line p3 in class Race two I was starting and found out very quickly that our little g40 ginetta is quite hard to see from the cars we was racing so I was forced on the grass a couple times and also go turned into at the hairpin, giving us damage forcing an early pit stop to check everything was okay. I went back out and then the pit lane window opened another good driver change and Charlotte managed to nurse the car home and due to some mechanical problems for other cars we came home in p2 in class. Really showing that you should never give up no matter what situation you are in. Overall a really enjoyable experience endurance racing with vinna and a well done to Charlotte for helping me though the weekend and putting a good performance in out on track. Now all eyes on this coming weekend for the finale of civic cup at my home track brands hatch! As always a massive thank you to the people who help me get out on track and for supporting me at the events, I hope to see many of you at brands this weekend!
