Brands hatch Civic Cup Finale Oct 2023

Pro alloys Race team kindly had me back in the polit seat of one of their Honda Civic EP3's for the final round of the Civic Cup at Brands hatch.

Friday testing was busy with almost 40 cars on the Indy circuit at brands hatch and also mixed conditions all day meant we didn’t get as much dry running as we would’ve wanted, but despite this we still learned throughout the day. Straight into Sunday race day and going straight into qualifying which was in drying conditions and a full dry line forming by the end of the session, but I just wasn’t able to put a full lap together when the track was at its best and put me p11 on the grid for race one. Race one I got an okay start running around the same pace as other cars around me struggling loads with the front pushing on and towards the end of the race my pace was dropping off and came across the line p13 but promoted to p12 after a penalty’s. Race 2 I got a good start and with the pack being so close down to graham hill and a driver in front had to hit the brakes to avoid a half spun car and with I went into the back of him very lucky not to damage the radiator. I was running in p8 after lap 2 but due to the damage at the front it definitely didn’t help my pace and with quicker drivers behind due to the reverse grid I was caught but still finished p11. Overall I’m happy with my results all things considered and for how little track time I’ve had this year, this also shows how competitive and hard the civic cup is to compete but that’s the beauty of it. Big congrats to max for winning the title this year as well! And a big thank you to everyone at pro alloys for giving me a reliable car for the weekend and excellent hospitality for the 2 rounds as well. Another thank you to everyone who came down and supported me it was much appreciated sunday was a busy day so I didn’t get much free time to see everyone. And also to all the people who help me get on the track and all members of club #28 I would like to do a full seasons racing next year and hopefully some more interesting opportunities on the track as well.
